Nice to meet you
About
I’m Sigal Sasson-Spector, mom to Niv and Itamar and a developmental occupational therapist. I hold a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Haifa and a master’s degree from the Schwartz Program in Early Childhood Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Why I created Let’s Play
For a child to understand what is being asked of them, therapy needs structure: illustrated, organized, and broken into steps. Preparing this, from finding the right idea to building it out, takes therapists a great deal of time and effort, at a time when there is a real shortage of therapists.
So I brought the materials and ideas I prepare for my own sessions together in one place. My goal is for the website to save therapists time, so they can see more children while still providing the most accessible and professional care.
For parents too
Many parents come to therapy and are not always sure how to keep supporting their child afterwards. Those who want to do activities at home often run into difficulties: complicated activities with materials that need to be bought in advance, a lack of ideas, or simply a child who does not want to cooperate.
The website offers activities made with things every home has, with inviting, clear illustrations. When parent and child understand exactly what to do, they feel less overwhelmed and are more ready to take part.
What will you find here?
Creative, movement, social, and sensory activities, recipes, and experiments. Each activity includes a supply list and illustrated steps, and you can search by therapy goal: fine and gross motor skills, language, planning and organization, working memory, flexible thinking, sensory regulation, and more.
Alongside the activities are tools from the world of therapy that help children become independent and ready to participate: routine boards, ADL sequences, a session board for therapists, and an activity generator.
I keep adding new activities, content, and tools, and I hope the website helps you create enjoyable, meaningful moments of play, learning, and success with children.
Contact and professional consultation
Would you like advice about your child’s development, daily functioning, or participation? You are welcome to contact me to arrange a paid occupational therapy consultation on Zoom or at my clinic in Petah Tikva. This may include thinking together, parent guidance, and recommendations and activities tailored to your child’s needs.
I would also be glad to hear from you if you have a question about the website, an idea for a new activity, or a suggestion for improvement.
