Leaf Prints

Materials | | 1. Fresh leaves in different sizes | | | 2. Tempera paint in fall colors | | | 3. Paintbrush | | | 4. White paper | | | 5. Paper towel |
Preparation: Cover the table with newspaper and put a little of each paint color on a plate. How to Play | | 1. Lay a leaf on the newspaper with the veined side facing up. | | | 2. Brush a thin layer of paint onto the leaf. | | | 3. Turn the leaf over and place it on a clean sheet of paper, paint side down. | | | 4. Cover with a paper towel and press with your palm over the whole leaf. Carefully lift the leaf by its stem. |

- ⭐How much paint: A thick layer blurs the veins. If the print comes out as a blob, use less paint and try again.
Make It Easier
Use large leaves and one color, and dip the leaf straight into the paint plate instead of using a brush.
Make It More Challenging
Turn the prints into a tree, a wreath, or a bird, or print on fabric or a cloth bag.
