Spot It! (Dobble)

Any two cards share exactly one picture. Who will spot it first?

Age 6–12 15 min Easy

Game description

A fast visual-perception card game. Each round card has 8 pictures, and any two cards always share one picture, and only one. Everyone plays at the same time: find the picture your card shares with the card in the middle, say its name out loud, and put your card down. The game builds visual scanning, attention, reaction speed and naming.

Good to know

  • There are no turns: everyone plays at once, and whoever finds a match first plays first.
  • The shared picture can be a different size or turned a different way on each card.
  • The rule booklet in the box has a few more quick games with the same cards.

Make It Easier

Play without speed: put two cards side by side and look for the shared picture together. Give a hint ("It's something we eat"), or start with the kids' version of the game, which has fewer pictures on each card.

Make It More Challenging

Before putting your card down, describe the shared picture: its color and what it is used for. You can also say its name in English.
