Preparation: Remove the wrappers from the crayons. Very dry leaves break, so fresh, flexible leaves work best.
How to Play
1. Lay the leaves on the table with the veined side facing up.
2. Place a sheet of paper over the leaves and tape its corners to the table.
3. Rub the long side of a crayon back and forth over the paper until the leaf shape appears.
4. Switch colors and leaves, and fill the whole page with colorful leaves.

⭐Force control: Pressing too hard tears the paper, and pressing too lightly doesn't show the veins. It's natural practice in finding the right amount of force.
⭐Collecting leaves: Going out together to collect leaves in the yard or park is an activity in itself.
Make It Easier
For younger children, tape the leaves to the table and use large leaves and a thick crayon.
Make It More Challenging
Guess which leaf is hiding under the paper before rubbing, or cut out the colored leaves and glue them onto a drawing of a tree.
